Umpires

The JSL Umpire Coordinator for the 2026 season is Bob Hanzlicek – any/all questions should be directed to him at jslumpires@jrsaltdogs.com.

2026 Season

Our 2026 umpire application will be linked here by early February – check back.  To apply, complete and submit the 2026 application form when it is linked.  Umpires must have internet access as all games will be self-assigned using Arbitersports.com on a first come, first serve basis.  Umpire candidates must be at least 14 yrs old by May 1, 2026.  Experience is not required; however, a basic understanding of baseball and the rules is necessary.

Reference materials for umpires

• Umpire ACH form for payroll checks (all new JSL umps [and returning umps who have changed banking info] must complete and return no later than May 5, 2025)
• Lincoln Parks & Rec Release Online Form – each umpire (or parent if the umpire is younger than 19 yrs old) must complete and submit the form.  The link will take you to the form which is submitted electronically
• 2026 Umpire Meeting Handout (will be linked here after the ump meeting (in case it’s helpful, the 2025 handout is linked here)
• 2026 Jr Saltdogs Rules at a Glance and In-House Rules (will be linked here before the season begins) [umpires should keep a copy of these documents and have it with them at each game they umpire in case it’s needed for reference during a game]
